What is LanguaLit?
LanguaLit blends language and literature. The page stays a story. A second language arrives inside it, in pieces small enough to notice and optional enough to skip.
A story in the language you already read
LanguaLit is a reading room for people learning a language by staying with a story. You choose a base language to carry the prose, then a target language to meet as short, useful expressions woven into that prose. An English-speaking reader can read English with Spanish woven in. A Spanish-speaking reader can read Spanish with selected English phrases woven in. Full target-language immersion stays available as an optional mode, not the only door in.
The name is language and literature, together. The live product describes itself as story-first language learning through bilingual reading: read in the language you know, meet a second language inside the page, and keep only the phrases you want.
What you can do on the page
On a living page you can tap a woven phrase for meaning and pronunciation, then let the scene continue. Phrases you choose to keep can join a private Word Constellation and return later as study cards. The starter shelf opens with eight pre-built routes — Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese (Brazil first), Japanese, Korean, and simplified Mandarin Chinese. The first three episodes of every published route are free. Spanish, French, and Japanese are being deepened first, rather than pretending every topic is already on the shelf.
The shared shelf is a curated set of opening routes you can read now. Separately, the Story Concierge can make a private, original route when you ask — a job, a trip, a wedding, a mystery — and that request stays on your Story Trail. It is not added to the public library just because you requested it. Public AI-assisted stories are labeled plainly. You can also bring a text-based PDF or DOCX you wrote, own, are licensed to use, or have permission to adapt, and build private cue cards from a passage you select. That document never enters the public catalog.
What LanguaLit will not claim
LanguaLit does not diagnose proficiency, promise fluency, or replace a teacher or a course. It does not claim a publisher partnership, and it does not say that any book can be uploaded or adapted freely. Reminders are opt-in. There are no public leaderboards and no punitive streak-loss messages.
If you want the research boundaries — what extensive reading and retrieval practice can support, and what a product must not overpromise — they are spelled out on the method page. Billing questions go to support@langualit.com.
Questions readers ask
What is LanguaLit?

Is LanguaLit an AI-generated library?
